Tiki Hut Coffee put together a list of our favorite tea-based cocktail recipes, filled with fresh twists of classic favorites and new, flavorful concoctions that are sure to make you the hostess with the mostess.
What do you get when you cross a citrusy tea, strawberries, raspberries, jalapeno, tequila and champagne? A mouthwatering marga-tea-ta.
– 4 oz Twinings Raspberry Pomegranate Iced Tea
– 1 oz tequila
– 4 strawberries
– 4 raspberries
– 1/2 jalapeno, seeded and diced
– Splash of prosecco
– Strawberry for garnish (optional)
– Salt for margarita glass rim (optional)
Directions: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add the Twinings Raspberry Pomegranate Iced Tea, blackberries, raspberries, jalapeno and tequila. Shake well and strain into a margarita glass (rim edge with salt if desired). Top with Prosecco. Garnish with strawberry if desired.
Boston Tea Party Mojito
A flavor enhancing spin on the classic Mojito, with the added bonus of antioxidant herbal mint tea.
– 1/2 cup brewed Lipton Smooth Mint Herbal Tea, chilled
– 1 1/2 oz white rum
– 6 fresh mint leaves
– 2 tsp sugar, or to taste
– 1 lime, cut into 4 wedges
Directions: Steep Lipton Smooth Mint Herbal Tea to desired strength and place in the refrigerator until chilled. Place mint leaves and 1 lime wedge into a sturdy glass. Use a muddler to crush the mint and lime to release the mint oils and lime juice. Add 2 more lime wedges and the sugar, and muddle again to release the lime juice. Do not strain the mixture. Fill the glass almost to the top with ice. Pour the rum over the ice, and fill the glass with the Lipton Smooth Mint Herbal Tea. Stir, taste, and add more sugar if desired. Garnish with the remaining lime wedge.
Stars & Stripes Southern Tea
An enhanced, tipsy version of a popular favorite in the South: Southern Sweet Tea.
– 1 1/2 oz bourbon whiskey
– 1/2 oz limoncello
– 6 oz Celestial Seasonings Southern Sweet Iced Tea
– Lemon wedge for garnish (optional)
Directions: In a double old-fashioned glass, add bourbon and limoncello. Fill the glass with ice. Top with Celestial Seasonings Southern Sweet Iced Tea. Garnish with lemon wedge if desired.
A healthy option for anyone counting calories or watching their waistline, the Liber-Tea-Tini is a refreshing twist on a Vodka A refreshing twist on a Vodka Martini infused with iced tea lemonade and fresh lemon juice.
– 1 3/4 oz citron vodka
– 1 oz Diet Lipton Iced Tea Lemonade
– 1/4 oz fresh lemon juice
– Lemon wedge for garnish (optional)
– Sugar for martini glass rim (optional)
Directions: Fill a cocktail shaker with ice and add Lipton Iced Tea Lemonade, vodka and lemon juice. Shake well. Strain into a chilled cocktail glass rimmed with sugar. Garnish with the lemon wedge if desired.
Red, White & Oolong Old Fashioned
All the deliciousness of an Old Fashioned combined with an Oolong tea infused bourbon. Oolong tea, an ancient hybrid blend of Chinese black and green teas, not only compliments the flavors of traditional bourbon wonderfully, it also contains tons of natural antioxidants.
For the Oolong-infused bourbon:
– 8 oz bourbon
– 2 bags Yamotoyama Oolong Tea
For the Oolong Old Fashioned drink:
– 1/2 tsp sugar
– 3 dashes Angostura bitters
– A few drops water
– 2 oz Oolong infused Bourbon
– Orange slice and maraschino cherry for garnish (optional)
Directions: For the Oolong infused Bourbon, combine the Yamotoyama Oolong Tea and bourbon in a jar and cover. Let steep at room temperature for at least 2 hours. Remove the tea bags and reseal. Put the sugar in an old fashioned glass and add the bitters. Add just enough water to saturate the sugar and muddle the mixture until the sugar is dissolved. Add the Oolong infused bourbon and top with ice. Stir 10 seconds to chill and combine. Garnish with orange slice and maraschino cherry if desired.
Freedom Regents Punch
If you are looking for a unique punch for your next party, you may want to give this classic a try. A batch of this punch will have the whole party buzzing.
– 1 pint brandy
– 1 pint rum
– 1 pint Batavia Arrack
– 1 pint curacao liqueur
– 3 cups Tazo China Green Tea
– 3 cups lemon juice
– 2 cups simple syrup
– 1 cup orange juice
– 1 bottle Champagne
– 1 pineapple, sliced
– 2 oranges, sliced
– 1 small jar maraschino cherries
Directions: To make the simple syrup, combine equal parts sugar and water in a saucepan over medium heat until dissolved. Refrigerate until cool. Combine the liquors, Tazo China Green Tea, lemon, and syrup in a punch bowl and mix well. Add ice, champagne, fruit slices and maraschino cherries immediately before serving. Serve in punch glasses.
